Born and bred in the north east of Scotland, Alan studied at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, becoming a full time artist shortly after and has been painting on and off for the past 40 years.
 

He has been involved with a couple of galleries over the years, but The Artist’s Studio is his first solo venture. Whisky has always surrounded him, from the barley fields of his fathers farm at Speybay, to the heartland of whisky production up river in Speyside and his artwork has slowly evolved to reflect this.
